Justin Timberlake continues to remain in the spotlight for the month.
After being arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on Monday, June 17, for driving under the influence, the singer, who is currently on tour, still has some unresolved issues — his tour is called the «World Tour».
After being released without bail the next morning, the 43-year-old singer is required to appear in court on July 26. On that evening, the artist is scheduled to perform in Krakow, Poland.
«Mr. Timberlake will not be present at the court hearing on July 26», - confirmed a representative of lawyer Edward Burke Jr. on Tuesday.
«Mr. Burke will be present at the court hearing in person, although it will mostly be virtual, simply because our office is right across from the court. It will be a very procedural conference with the prosecutor and judge».
Police documents stated that officers observed Timberlake running a red light, swerving multiple times, not staying in his lane while driving his BMW through the village after midnight.
The singer refused to take a breathalyzer test after his arrest, allegedly telling officers: «I had one martini and was driving home to my friends». Documents noted Timberlake’s «red and glassy» eyes, «strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath», - and his poor performance on all standardized sobriety tests.
The arresting officer did not know who Timberlake was, Page Six reported. The singer allegedly whispered during the arrest, «This is going to ruin the tour».
The officer asked, «What tour?» and Timberlake replied, «World Tour».
A source told ET: «Justin is ready to face any consequences he has to endure. He hopes to learn from this experience and leave it behind. Jessica is very supportive of him and helps him overcome everything».
The source added, «Justin is still directing his energy towards his family and focusing on his tour. He is ready to move forward positively, dedicating himself to his work duties and even creating new music».
The former NSYNC member returned to his tour just a few days after the arrest in Chicago, where he addressed the scandal.
«We've been through it all together, in the good times and the bad, left and right. And, um, it’s been a tough week. But you’re here, and I’m here. Nothing can change this moment right now», - Timberlake said. «I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you continue to love me, and I love you back»
