Justin Timberlake jokes about his arrest for driving under the influence

Justin Timberlake had a tough month in June, but that doesn’t stop him from joking about it. During a recent performance by the 43-year-old artist in Boston, he seemed to allude to his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to several videos taken by fans and posted on social media.
«So, is there anyone here today who drives a car?» Justin asked, then quickly added, «No, I’m just kidding». The audience joyfully reacted to his joke, after which he asked if this was anyone’s first time attending his concert as part of the Forget Tomorrow World tour.
Justin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the Hamptons on June 19. According to Sag Harbor police, the «Cry Me a River» singer was stopped for allegedly running a stop sign and crossing over his lane. Refusing to take a breathalyzer test, Justin was arrested and taken to the police station.
After news of his arrest broke, reports surfaced that the officer who arrested Justin initially did not recognize him, even after Justin reportedly said the arrest was «ruining the tour».
Hours later, he was released and continued his world tour, performing in Chicago and then in New York. Justin’s lawyer, Edward Berk Jr., provided a statement to Hollywood Life regarding the NSYNC member’s arrest.
«I will have plenty to say at the appropriate time, but right now I am awaiting full disclosure from the district attorney’s office», - the lawyer said in the statement. «I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these charges».
Justin is reportedly expected to return to court on July 26 for the charges. That same week, he is also scheduled to perform in Poland as part of the international leg of his tour.
A few days after his arrest, the «Mirrors» singer broke his silence on the matter during a performance in Chicago. Calling the week «tough», - Justin told his fans, «We've been together in joy and sorrow, left and right, and, um, it’s been a tough week. But you’re here. I’m here… I know sometimes I can be hard to love, but you continue to love me. Thank you so much»
