Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy discussed their performances after the Yacht Rock night on «Dancing with the Stars». The couple scored 21 points for their samba to the song «Africa» by Toto.
Jenna shared her emotions, noting that she feels joy and happiness from the dance: «I really wanted to convey that in the dance, and I’m very happy with it». She also emphasized the importance of connecting with the audience, adding that the show, especially the dancing, makes participants experience physical and emotional strains simultaneously, which can resonate with viewers.
Additionally, Dewan talked about how she and Val showcased their moves from the movie «Step Up» on TikTok, recreating the dance from the club scene in 2006. Val described it as «very fun», - while Jenna noted that it was her favorite dance in the film.
Chmerkovskiy also shared his expectations for next week, dedicated to Mariah Carey, saying they were told to slow down the tempo: «Next week we have a rumba. We have a slow song and a slow dance». He added that they are a bit disappointed by the lack of expected recognition this week, but they will have another chance.
«Dancing with the Stars» airs on Tuesdays at 8 PM on ABC.
