Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy performed a fiery tango on the second night of the premiere of «Dancing with the Stars». In an interview with «Extra», - the couple commented on their score of 19 out of 30.
Val noted that he understands how the scoring system works, adding that the judges' feedback depends not only on the participants' talent but also on the expectations placed upon them. He emphasized that they should strive to improve their performances.
Jenna agreed with Val and shared that she enjoyed her first dance, expressing pride in what they accomplished. She noted that she and Val are focused on «raising the bar» in their performances and aiming for the best possible results.
Despite her experience in dancing, Jenna admitted that she still has certain challenges to overcome as she learns a new dance style.
Jenna and Val previously worked together on the show «Flirty Dancing», - where she was the host and he was the choreographer. Val recalled how during one shoot, he felt that a good chemistry developed between them and expressed a desire to collaborate with her in the future.
Six years later, his dream came true, and he noted that Jenna’s decision to participate in «Dancing with the Stars» was a bold step for which he is grateful. Val also emphasized that Jenna, through her film «Step Up», - inspired many to believe that a dancer can become a star. Jenna, in turn, remarked that she cannot imagine a better partner than Val.
