Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan met to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series «Alias». The actress posted a video on her Instagram on September 30, in which they reminisced about their time on set together.
In the video, Garner, who played the lead role of Sydney Bristow, and Vartan, who portrayed her love interest Michael Vaughn, appeared friendly. Garner noted that the show’s cast was her «whole world» and that they have remained close over the years. She also emphasized that «Alias» dramatically changed her career, as she had not been offered action roles before.
Garner and Vartan began dating during filming, with their romance confirmed in August 2003, but they broke up the following year. Despite the breakup, they maintained a friendly relationship and continued to play lovers until the show’s conclusion. In a 2005 interview, Vartan described their split as «amicable», - stressing that there was no drama between them.
When asked in 2018 about the possibility of rekindling their relationship with Garner, Vartan stated that he did not consider it likely. Nevertheless, they continue to support each other as friends, and Garner has congratulated Vartan on his birthday multiple times, including in November 2023, when she posted an old photo of them from «Alias».
