Jeremy Allen White and Maika Monroe gave an interview to Extra, where they discussed Aaron Sorkin’s new film «The Social Network». The film is based on real events related to the exposure of Facebook by engineer Frances Haugen and Wall Street Journal journalist Jeff Horwitz.

White mentioned that he initially had doubts about transitioning from his role as Bruce Springsteen in «Deliver Me from Nowhere» to a role based on a real person, but Sorkin reassured him. «Jeff and Frances are public figures to some extent, but the culture at large has no idea what they look and sound like», - he noted. Aaron Sorkin encouraged the actors to study materials about their characters but emphasized that it was not mandatory.

Maika Monroe added that their characters meet for the first time on screen, and they tried to reflect that in their performances. White also pointed out that the dialogues in the film are complex and numerous, so he often returned to the script to find the right rhythm.

Jeremy shared his concerns about social media, noting that he tries to keep his distance from it, but sometimes he still gets immersed in it. He emphasized that the film has reinforced his views on personal relationships with social media, especially in the context of youth, including his children. «I think young people should be able to understand the world without the influence of social media», - he added.

The film «The Social Network» has already been released in theaters.
