Jeremy Renner has come a long way since his accident on a snowplow. Now, returning to the small screen for the third season of «Mayor of Kingstown», - the 53-year-old actor is also returning to the big screen. According to a new report, Jeremy has been chosen to star in the third installment of the film «Knives Out».
According to Deadline, Jeremy will join Daniel Craig in the upcoming Netflix film «Wake Up Dead Man: The Mystery of Knives Out». Daniel, 56, will once again play detective Benoit Blanc alongside new actors Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, Kaley Spain, and Glenn Close.
This is the first feature film Jeremy will appear in after his near-fatal accident on a snowplow in 2023. In January of that year, the «Avengers» star was crushed by his snowplow and airlifted to the hospital from his home in Nevada. He suffered a chest injury and over 30 fractures.
Ten weeks later, Jeremy was able to walk with a cane and appeared at various public events, including the premiere of his Disney+ show «Renovations» in April 2023.
Later that same year, Jeremy shared his harrowing experience and survival in an interview with Diane Sawyer.
«I was conscious throughout every moment», - he said. «It's exactly as you imagine it. It’s hard to imagine what it feels like, but when you look at the machine and — I was on asphalt and ice. I wish it was snow. It was like someone squeezed the air out of you».
The «Wind River» actor noted that «too many things are happening in the body to feel pain», - and it seemed like his «soul could feel pain» in the moments after he was crushed by the snowplow.
Despite the frightening experience, Jeremy maintains a positive outlook on the incident. After an impressive full recovery, he updated his Instagram followers on his progress earlier this month, posting a video of himself running.
«I feel it’s my duty to get better for my family, for myself, and for all those who helped me», - Jeremy captioned the post on May 21. «So, wherever it may be for you… a new beginning, a dream, a goal… let’s run towards it!!!»
