Jesse McCartney is expecting his second child and preparing for fatherhood

Jesse McCartney shared his expectations regarding the birth of his second child with wife Katie Peterson. In an interview with TMZ on October 8, he admitted that he is very happy and excited, adding that being the father of a girl is a completely different experience.
McCartney noted that he has no idea what it will be like, but he is looking forward to having both a boy and a girl in their family. He joked that if they had two boys, it could drive them crazy, and added, «We are very excited. It’s going to be great. Our first son is such a good kid, and I imagine our daughter will be just like him».
He also recalled how their son Archer was born three months premature in 2025 and spent 70 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before his parents could bring him home. McCartney mentioned that they try not to think about the worst and approach the situation with cautious optimism. He added that so far everything is going well, and mom is feeling good, although being a parent in the NICU can cause some psychological trauma.
A few days ago, McCartney and Peterson announced that they are expecting their second child, posting several photos of a pregnant Peterson, one of which shows Archer pointing at her belly. They wrote on Instagram, «Archer is getting a promotion to big brother 🤍 March 2027». Later, the couple revealed that they are expecting a girl and «couldn't be happier» about the news.
