The mother-daughter duo on screen of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan was spotted embracing on the set of «Freaky Friday», the sequel to their 2003 Disney hit «Freaky Friday».
The bond they formed during the first film brought them back together for this long-awaited sequel. Lohan, now 38, was seen on the beach in Malibu in a bright green floral bikini, while 65-year-old Curtis was dressed in a wetsuit and sunglasses, smiling next to the «Mean Girls» star.
The original film tells the story of a mother and daughter who, after a «big fight in a Chinese restaurant, receive fortunes from fortune cookies that make them switch bodies. As they adapt to their new identities, they begin to understand each other better, and ultimately mutual respect resolves everything» — according to the IMDb synopsis.
Knowing each other since the early 2000s, Lohan expressed her gratitude to Curtis in a January interview with Good Morning America, sharing that they have become like «best friends». She added: «They always say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close to, even if you haven’t seen each other in years, when you meet again, it’s like you were never apart».
«We just have so much fun, and it’s so great to have that on set. You always want to have a good time. So it’s a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughter, and it’s a great experience right now», - she shared.
Reflecting on her career, Curtis told IMDb: «I've worked on many projects, but wherever I go, the film industry always asks about 'Freaky Friday'».
As their time on set comes to an end, the pair seems to have enjoyed the summer. Lohan recently posted on Instagram: «It was such a pleasure shooting this film with my dear friend @jamieleecurtis, who brings so much joy to our set every day».
