Jamie Lee Curtis discussed the legacy of Robert Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner, who were killed in their home nine months ago, in an interview with Derek Hough. The actress noted that the grief over their loss is still fresh.

Curtis spoke about the couple’s children, Jake and Romy, emphasizing that they have grown closer during this difficult time. She recalled sitting next to Jake during the interview, which was emotional, especially when he spoke about his parents and their wonderful relationship.

Jamie and Rob were children of Hollywood legends and had known each other for many years. In recent years, they both appeared in the series «The Bear», - where Jamie won an Emmy for her role in 2024, and Rob was posthumously awarded an Emmy this year.

Curtis also talked about her connection to a cause close to the Reiners—the Institute for Children, one of the oldest and largest family organizations in Los Angeles. She described the Reiners' legacy as «love and service», - highlighting their generosity and love for family.

Jamie Lee will be honored with the first Champion for Change award at the Cape & Gown gala, which will take place on November 8 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. She expressed hope that the event would be joyful and celebratory rather than memorial, emphasizing the importance of continuing the Reiners' work.

Proceeds from the gala will support the mission of the Institute for Children, aimed at helping children and families overcome trauma and achieve academic success.
