Jamie Pressly shared her experiences of balancing motherhood and her acting career. In an interview with Us Weekly, the actress discussed the challenges she faced while striving to fulfill her dreams in film while also being a caring mother.
According to Pressly, the balance between her career and motherhood became particularly difficult in 2007 when she gave birth to her first son, Dezi, as her career in comedy began to gain popularity. In 2017, when she had twins Leo and Lennon, she continued to star in the series «Mom», - which allowed her to spend time with her children. However, when filming began to take place outside of Los Angeles, it complicated her life.
The actress noted that while she tried to manage work with the help of a nanny, she soon realized that it was not a long-term solution. Ultimately, her former partner Hamzi Hijaz, the father of the twins, became actively involved in helping her with the children, which allowed Pressly to return to work. She mentioned that Hijaz is temporarily living in her home, which helps her focus on filming.
In her new film «Last Shot», - which is set to be released on October 2, Pressly plays the role of a mother who left her son to be raised by his father. The actress admitted that she found it difficult to understand her character’s motivation, as she cannot imagine not caring for her own children.
Pressly hopes that her sons will see how hard she works and that it will have a positive influence on them, although, according to her, the twins do not show much interest in her career. Nevertheless, she strives to keep their lives as normal as possible, emphasizing that for her, the most important thing is to be a mom.
