Jason Kelce made his official debut on ESPN as a football commentator with a nod to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, adorning himself with a dark blue beret.

The 36-year-old retired Philadelphia Eagles center made his first appearance on the television show on Thursday, August 1, alongside his co-hosts Scott Van Pelt, Marcus Spears, and Ryan Clark. As they prepared to broadcast the Hall of Fame game between the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears, 58-year-old Scott immediately welcomed Jason, noting his fashionable choice: «We welcome you to the group, man! I wasn’t sure if you would wear a tie; I didn’t know you would wear a beret, right after coming back from the Olympics», - he said.

Kelce’s older brother, who had recently returned from the «City of Love», - expressed, «I'm still on Paris time, so I decided to wear a Parisian headgear».

He had been wearing this beret since his time at the games in Paris. He was first noticed with it when he met the US women’s rugby team, whom he had been supporting during his stay there. He even wore a shirt with the image of rugby player Ilona Maher.

Being a sports guy, attending the 2024 Olympics was definitely on his list. He told the Associated Press, «When we found out we had the opportunity to go there, the more we thought about it, the more we realized, let’s take advantage of this now, while we have the chance… We love sports, we love competition, we love global events. It’s such a unique place where the whole world comes together and unites through competition and sports».

The new commentator didn’t stay retired for long, as he returned to appear on NFL Countdown on ESPN, which will soon become Monday Night Countdown when the season starts. In a statement released by the Walt Disney Company, Jason said, «ESPN was a constant presence in our home growing up, and the network helped shape me and my love for all sports. Now to appear on the same screen — it’s come full circle. And, I mean, it’s Monday Night Football! I’m ready for football»
