Jason Kelsi spoke out about the negative feedback he received from fans regarding his comments about his wife, Kylie Kelsi, which were heard in the latest episode of the «New Heights» podcast, when the former «Eagles» player, 36 years old, reacted to controversial speech at Harrison Butker’s graduation ceremony. Addressing X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday, May 27, Jason began his statement by writing: «I'm responding to this because I’ve seen many people talking about it».
«I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife», - he wrote in a tweet, adding: «I think of her as a mother. She has a profession, just like me, and we both strive to keep our home in the best shape. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals and we work on it every day. The only expectation is that we love each other, support each other, and are committed to our family, which comes first».
Jason continued to note that both he and Kylie «raise our children, work, and take care of our home».
«It's our fault that we have a mess, but that’s life with three little kids, a busy schedule, and neither of us is a neat freak», - the athlete noted, adding jokingly: «She also makes great sandwiches».
At the end of his long tweet, Jason explained: «If being a homemaker suits someone and that’s what they want, damn, that’s great, more power to you. I want to be clear, I’m not belittling that at all, but that’s not our family dynamic».
Jason was responding to a tweet from X user who had previously written: «Your wife is a homemaker. But you can’t support Butker. And your wife is a homemaker, with a dirty and messy house. Sorry, but it’s dirty and messy on TV. It seems you’re a bit hypocritical. You’ll only have Swiftie left. You just ruined your reputation. It’s sad».
Last week, Jason expressed his opinion on Harrison’s controversial speech at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony, in which the 28-year-old «Chiefs» player told women in the audience that «most» of them «care most about their marriage and the children they will bring into this world».
«My wife, she, I think, was a little disappointed by some of his comments», - Jason admitted on his podcast with brother Travis Kelsi, which was released on May 24. Jason then joked: «I told her, 'You need to go back to the kitchen and make me a sandwich. I’m listening to the game right now'»
