Actors Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson discussed their on-screen relationship ahead of the premiere of the new season of the series «Private Eyes: West Coast», - which will take place on October 5. Sampson noted that the transition from a platonic friendship to a romantic relationship on screen took time, adding that she would have preferred not to have to kiss Priestley at work.
Sampson, who plays Angie, emphasized that despite Priestley’s reputation as a heartthrob, she tried not to succumb to his charm while portraying his boss. Priestley, for his part, praised Sampson, calling her incredibly talented and kind, noting that for her, kissing him felt like kissing a brother.
The series «Private Eyes», - based on the novel by G.B. Joyce, aired in Canada for five seasons before its cancellation in 2021. In the new project «Private Eyes: West Coast», - Priestley and Sampson reunite, continuing the story of their characters after their kiss.
Priestley shared that in the new season, his character, Matt Shade, is on a book tour and trying to adapt to life in retirement, while Angie faces new challenges related to motherhood.
