Jimmy Kimmel updated his son’s health status after the third operation

Jimmy Kimmel shared an update on the condition of his son William John, also known as Billy, whom he shares with his wife Molly McNearney, on Monday, July 8, during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
He is now 7 years old, born on April 21, 2017, and underwent open-heart surgery at three days old. The news was revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live when the 56-year-old host announced in an emotional speech that a pediatric cardiologist diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia. «Essentially, his pulmonary valve was completely blocked, and he had a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of his heart», - the TV host shared.
To date, his son has undergone a third operation — in May. Jimmy shared the update through an Instagram post captioned: «This weekend, our little boy Billy had his third (hopefully last) open-heart surgery. We started this journey with a lot of optimism and almost as much fear, but we came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy child».
Since the first operation, the TV host has always been openly grateful to the medical professionals who helped his son on the road to recovery. «Thanks to those loving strangers who took the time to pray and send positive energy to our little one… Please share your love, hearts, and prayers with them, and if it moves you, support @ChildrensLA or a great children’s hospital nearby (@CMNHospitals). There is nothing more important than care», - he wrote in his post.
Now, two months after the last open-heart surgery, the father of four shared with ET: «Billy is feeling great. He underwent open-heart surgery; you know, he has scars and everything, but mentally he is back in place, which is just incredible. Physically, you know, we’ll have to be careful with him for a couple of months, but he feels really good».
He added that he admires how strong children can be: «they're like rubber, you know, everyone says that kids are so resilient, and even doctors explained to me that I don’t know why it never occurred to me, because they’re still growing»
