Gypsy Rose Blanchard spoke out following the death of her ex-fiancé Ken Urquhart, who passed away at the age of 34 on his birthday. In an interview with People on October 1, just hours after Urquhart was found unconscious in his home in Louisiana, Blanchard, 35, noted that she does not know if his death was «intentional or not».
She shared that Urquhart had not been in the best mental state recently. «I'm in disbelief. I can’t think», - she said. Blanchard added that Urquhart was «an amazing father and a person who was deeply loved», - emphasizing that he will always remain her «soulmate».
In a separate interview with TMZ, Blanchard claimed that Urquhart had become a victim of «relentless cyberbullying» before his death. According to Us, Urquhart was found dead in his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on the same day. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed his death, stating that their deputies arrived at the scene at 6:15 PM and discovered Urquhart deceased.
According to TMZ, Blanchard sent Urquhart a birthday text message but did not receive a response. Later, her half-brother, Dylan Blanchard, found Urquhart in the house. Ken’s sister, Autumn Urquhart, also confirmed his death during an emotional live stream on TikTok.
The relationship between Gypsy Rose and Ken Urquhart began when they were corresponding while she was serving a seven-year sentence for her involvement in her mother’s murder. Urquhart wrote her a supportive letter after the release of the HBO documentary «Mom Dead and Dearest» in 2017. In October 2018, he proposed to her, but the couple broke up the following year. Blanchard later married Ryan Anderson in July 2022, but their marriage ended in early 2024, after which she reunited with Urquhart and gave birth to their daughter, Aurora, in December of the same year.
