Contestant of the 39th season of «Amazing Race», - Jodi Rebhun, left the competition due to a broken leg. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, she revealed that she fractured her femur and possibly her fibula. The incident occurred in the desert after completing a task related to memorizing tea names.
According to Jodi, the injury happened after her friend Jenn Naso successfully completed the task. Celebrating the success, Jodi did a «jump with a clap» and felt that something was wrong. «Six hours later, after several flights home, I found out that I broke two bones in my leg», - she shared.
Jenn noted that the injury was a testament to Jodi’s strength. She recalled how Jodi, realizing something was wrong, continued to help her by carrying their bags and rushing to the next task. «Adrenaline can do wonders», - Jodi added, noting that she didn’t realize how serious her injury was.
Despite a three-hour delay in the previous leg, Jodi and Jenn managed to catch up with other teams and completed the fruit stacking task simultaneously with the duo Doug and Dylan Matter. Ultimately, they were the last to arrive at the finish line and were eliminated from the competition. «It was chaotic, intense, and inspiring», - Jodi summarized. «Amazing Race» airs Wednesdays at 9:30 PM Eastern Time on CBS.
