Participant of the eleventh season of the show «Love is Blind», - John Shannon, clarified his views on healthcare issues after a tense discussion with his fiancée Sarah Williams in the pods. In his Instagram statement on October 16, John noted, «I believe in a woman’s right to choose» and added that he does not consider abortions illegal.
In the first episode of the season, John and Sarah, who is 34 years old, discussed abortion rights and other healthcare topics. He also emphasized that he is not an «anti-vaxxer», - stating that his last vaccination was for shingles, recommended before starting treatment for multiple sclerosis.
John mentioned that their hour-long conversation was cut down to 45 seconds, but they still found it to be a «wonderful, productive conversation». The couple met in the pods during the experiment in Boston, which was filmed in 2025 and began airing on October 14. Their connection was shaken when Sarah overheard John refer to her as his «least» choice while leaving the pods.
However, John and Sarah were able to overcome that moment and ultimately got engaged. «You were everything I was looking for, and I think you are perfect», - John said, to which Sarah replied that she would be happy to marry him. At the end of the meeting, John expressed his joy, saying, «You are so attractive. I couldn’t be happier».
