Actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas, known for the series «Home Improvement», - was arrested in Los Angeles after reportedly punching a police officer in the stomach. A representative of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the 45-year-old Thomas was taken into custody on September 21 after a vehicle stop at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Townsgate in Westlake Village.
According to police, Thomas was in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was stopped for «blocking traffic» at a traffic light during a green signal. Officers noticed that the driver was behaving strangely and was presumably under the influence of alcohol. After the vehicle was stopped, when Thomas was instructed to remain in place, he exited the car several times and distracted the officers from their investigation. At the moment he was being detained for obstructing police actions and public intoxication, he punched one of the officers in the stomach.
Thomas was arrested, taken in, and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station on charges of obstructing or resisting a law enforcement officer. The case will be forwarded to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office for review. Us Magazine reached out to Thomas for comments.
