Jordan Chiles recalls the moment she won a bronze medal in the women’s floor final at the Olympics in Paris. The 23-year-old artistic gymnast appeared on today’s show, where she openly talked about her feelings when she was moved to third place, instead of fifth, after the US team challenged the judges' initial score.

«Honestly, at that moment there were so many emotions in my body», - Jordan said in an interview on Thursday, August 8. «There were a lot of things, from not being on the podium to ending up there. I think the most important thing is always to understand that you can’t doubt yourself, and just let everything unfold as it should be».

Thanks to her teammate and longtime friend Simone Biles for being part of her «support system», - Jordan added that the 27-year-old gymnastics GOAT is «like an older sister to her», - and her coach, Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, is «like another mom».

«It was a really wonderful moment», - added the Olympic champion. «Simone has done so much for me, I feel like I realized that at that moment».

This viral moment divided viewers around the world. Last weekend, Jordan initially held fifth place after her floor routine, with Romanian Ana Barbosu in third. Jordan’s coach, Cecile, immediately filed a request with the judges to challenge the difficulty score. After Ana noticed that the judges had updated the rankings, moving Jordan to third place instead of her, she left crying.

Jordan celebrated this, emotionally embracing her coach and Simone before they received their medals on the podium.

Over the past week, social media users have expressed outrage over this. Even Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced that he would not attend the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in protest of Ana being «cruelly deprived» of the place that originally belonged to her.

Recently, Jordan’s coach spoke out on social media to explain how the athlete’s score changed.

«Jordan's maximum score on the floor is 5.9», - Cecile explained. «In the qualification and team finals, she received 5.8, and we didn’t challenge it because we saw that not all elements were executed. During the floor final, we thought it was better, and being in 5th place without anything to lose, I filed a request to not regret it. I didn’t think it would be accepted, and to my surprise, it happened»
