Jordan Chiles — golden girl: new grill and victory at the Olympics

Jordan Chiles is literally golden. The 23-year-old artistic gymnast struck the iconic Olympic pose, where athletes pretend to bite their gold medal, but Jordan added a new element by buying a new grill for her teeth.
The American women’s gymnastics team brought home gold this week, marking Team USA’s fourth consecutive victory at the Olympics. Jordan delivered a stellar performance, but will not be competing in the women’s individual all-around.
Jordan is known for her fun and theatrical behavior during competitions, as she shared in an interview with Teen Vogue in July.
«[Gymnasts] are known for entertainment», - she explained to the publication. «And that doesn’t bother me. I’ve been entertaining people my whole life. I’ve dedicated my life to this sport».
Reflecting on her journey to the Olympic team, Jordan noted that she had moments of self-doubt.
«When I was around 14, I thought, 'You know what? I’m not going to listen to anyone,'» Jordan said. «'I'm just going to do what I like, go out there and have fun, and just live a full life.' That’s how I overcame always being told to dim my light. That’s something I never want to experience again».
With the support of her inner circle, Jordan was able to stay grounded and remain close to her family, who, as she noted, «had to sacrifice a lot» — «especially my brothers and sisters» — «taking [me] to the gym and doing all these things for [me]».
«That's been my whole life», - added the athlete. «But now I try to avoid all that attention. I was in the spotlight when I was younger, and now I want to focus on everyone else».
Being a family-oriented person, Jordan is also a protector for her friends. When it comes to her teammates, she never misses an opportunity to support and defend them, especially her best friend Simone Biles. After Team USA’s gold victory, Simone’s drama with former teammate Mykayla Skinner made headlines, and Jordan revealed through social media that Mykayla, 27, had blocked Simone, 27, on Instagram
