Former politician George Santos stated that participating in the show «Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test» turned out to be a more challenging experience for him than the time he spent in prison. In an interview with Us magazine, he noted that while prison was difficult, this show requires constant presence and effort, unlike the incarceration system in the United States.
Santos, who was convicted of fraud and identity theft in April 2025 and spent 84 days in prison, shared that his prison experience helped him adapt better to the conditions of the show. He recalled that when he saw the barracks, he had a sense of déjà vu: «I thought, 'No, not this again.'»
In addition to Santos, the show features celebrities such as Candace Cameron Bure, Oliver Hudson, and Ruby Rose. Santos mentioned that his relationships with the other participants became very positive, especially with Candace, whom he described as a «wonderful person».
He also emphasized that participating in the show was an opportunity for him to show his true self, despite the negative headlines in the press. Santos expressed a desire for his former congressional colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene to also participate in the show, noting that she could be an interesting addition to the cast.
