Jewel shared her experiences working on mental health, which she is passing on to her 15-year-old son, Kase. In an interview with Us, she spoke about the importance of teaching skills that will help him cope with his inner struggles.
According to Jewel, she tries to be honest with her son, considering her difficult childhood experiences. She noted that it is important to recognize how thoughts influence feelings and, consequently, physical well-being. «If you want your outside life to change, look at your inside life», - she emphasized.
Jewel also pointed out a trend in modern society where youth emotions are overly emphasized, which can be just as harmful as ignoring them. She believes it is important to find a balance so that children feel heard but also do not avoid responsibility for their feelings.
In her life, Jewel faced challenges after her parents' divorce at the age of 8. She recalled watching how people cope with pain and realized that running away from it is impossible. These lessons became the foundation of her approach to mental health.
Jewel also announced the second annual Not Alone Summit and awards ceremony, which will take place in Las Vegas from November 2 to 4. She noted that the event brings together leaders from various fields to promote global mental health and helps people who have gone through tough times access the necessary tools to overcome adversity.
