Julie Bowen has confirmed that she has a new boyfriend, although she prefers to keep the details of their relationship private. At the annual Step Up awards ceremony held on September 25 in Los Angeles, the actress told People magazine, «I have a wonderful friend».
Although Bowen did not reveal the name of her new partner, she noted that he is «smart and funny». «I need intelligence and a sense of humor. Those are two qualities I look for in a partner», - she added. The actress emphasized that she does not pay attention to looks, although her new acquaintance is «good-looking».
Previously, Julie was married to real estate entrepreneur Scott Phillips from 2004 to 2018. They have three children: 19-year-old son Oliver and 17-year-old twins John and Gustav. In September 2025, Bowen emotionally remarked that her eldest son is going to college, writing on social media, «You made me a mother, and I’ve learned more than I could have imagined».
At a recent event at UCLA Health on September 27, Bowen also shared her thoughts on raising teenagers, noting that it is much more challenging than playing with «fake kids». She joked that it «feels like an abusive relationship with people who never pay for dinner», - but added that she loves her children very much and wants them to be happy.
