Julia Fox wants to be known not only as the girl who dated Kanye West. Regardless of how much time has passed since her month-long romance with the rapper ended, 34-year-old Julia says that some people find it hard to overlook her relationship history.
In a new interview for InStyle, published on Thursday, April 25, Julia was asked if she can relate to Cardi B’s words that «no matter what I achieve, I am still called a stripper». Without hesitation, Julia said that people continue to perceive her as Kanye’s girlfriend.
«That's why I have such a bitter taste in my mouth about dating anyone in this industry», - she told the publication. «Because I never want to be famous just as someone’s girlfriend. I know I am so much more than just that. And I feel like it happens so often with women in this industry. They are only good as a partner or can build a whole career based on being someone’s partner. But either way, it becomes their identity».
Julia continued: «I feel like I have to overcome this, and I want to break this pattern and just stand on my own two feet and not need a man to support me. I’ve been doing it for many years».
Kanye, 46, and Julia were first linked in early 2022 when they rang in the new year together. A month later, the actress’s representative confirmed to Us Weekly that the couple were no longer together but remained «good friends and partners».
During the candid interview, Julia was also asked if she got into fame or fame found her. Although her big breakthrough came thanks to her role in the 2019 film «Uncut Gems», - Julia considers herself a «ghetto star».
«People always knew me and I was always around», - she explained. «But I think it’s because I was just very wild and crazy, I had a big butt and guys really liked me. And I smoked weed with guys. I got into fights with people. I was just known as a troublemaker. So it was more like infamy».

«I want to do it all», - she declared. «I want to write more books, I want to write movies. I still want to act, I want to do fashion. I want to do more art. … I am never satisfied».
