According to a new report from Hello magazine, Suri Cruise appears to be following in her parents' footsteps and is starting to pursue acting, but apparently she does not want to include her famous family name in the program for her school musical. It is reported that during her performance in the musical Head Over Heels, 18-year-old Suri did not use her birth name.
Since Suri played the role of Philoclea in the show, which features music from the great representatives of power pop The Go-Gos, she was not credited as «Suri Cruise». Instead, Suri took her mother Katie Holmes' middle name and used it as her surname. According to Hello, she performed under the pseudonym «Suri Noel» for the show. Katie, as well as Suri’s grandmother and grandfather, Martin and Kathleen, were in the audience at the performance. It is unknown if her famous father Tom Cruise attended, but reports suggest they have not been in contact for many years.
Both of Suri’s parents have critically acclaimed acting talents, so it is not surprising that she has also taken a step into the acting world by performing in a school production. Suri showcased her vocal abilities to the audience when she sang the opening credits song for her mother’s film «Together» in 2022.
Katie shared why she wanted her daughter to sing a song for the film in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment at the time. «I always want the highest level of talent», - she said. «So I asked her! She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it, and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That’s how I usually direct: 'Here's what I think we all want — go and do your thing'».
«Together» was not Suri’s only musical contribution to the world of cinema. She also showcased her vocal abilities in her mother’s film «Rare Objects» in 2023, according to her IMDb page. She also made an uncredited appearance in her father’s film «Oblivion» in 2013
