Dolph Lundgren revealed that a second opinion from doctors «saved» his life after a cancer diagnosis. In 2015, the actor was diagnosed with kidney cancer after a tumor was discovered. According to Lundgren, he received incorrect treatment for several years, and if it weren’t for his visit to a doctor at UCLA, he might not have made it to today.
By the time he consulted another specialist, the cancer had already caused serious damage to his body, with tumors in his lungs, spine, stomach, and liver. Lundgren noted that after starting new treatment, he felt both disbelief and relief when it became clear that it was beginning to work.
The actor also shared that he and his wife Emma Krokdal considered filing a malpractice lawsuit but ultimately decided against it, realizing that the mistake was unintentional. Lundgren continued to work on films such as «Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom» and «Expendables 4», - keeping his diagnosis hidden from those around him.
Now, after nearly a decade of battling the disease, Lundgren says he has regained much of his strength and changed his outlook on life. He continues to undergo check-ups every four to five months, and for the past three years, the results have remained «clean». In his new documentary «Dolph: Unchained», - which was released on October 6, he shares his experience and hopes to inspire others facing difficulties.
