Dolly Parton recorded a video message to fans before her death

Before her death at the age of 80 in August, Dolly Parton recorded a special video message for fans to celebrate the opening of her new museum in Nashville, which took place on September 30. The museum «Life in Color» shared this video on Instagram, where Dolly invited followers to explore the archive of her life and career.
In the video, wearing gold, Parton said, «Hi everyone, it’s Dolly, and I am so proud to invite you to the opening of my museum 'Life in Color' right in the heart of Nashville at my hotel SongTeller. This museum will be the biggest museum of my life and career, filled with stories, songs, and memories that I’ve kept». She added that the museum includes everything that helped fulfill the dreams of a little girl and expressed her eagerness to share this with her fans.
According to information on the museum’s website, the exhibition covers «every dynamic decade» in Dolly’s life «from the peaks of the mountains to the peaks of the world». Using modern technology, the museum offers visitors an immersive experience into the world of music and film, family and faith, united in a kaleidoscope of dreams and style.
Dolly’s manager, Danny Nozell, previously reported that Parton had many projects in development at the time of her death. He noted that the team responsible for her legacy would work on realizing her unfinished dreams. Among recent projects are Dolly dolls and the «Cup of Ambition» coffee, which were launched this month.
The new musical «Dolly: The True Original Musical» will begin previews on December 7, with its Broadway premiere scheduled for January 19, the day that would have been Parton’s 81st birthday. A holiday project titled «Dolly on the Holly» and a jewelry line Kendra Scott x Dolly: The 9 to 5, set to launch in January 2027, are also in development.
Future plans include creating a show featuring a Dolly avatar, a musical documentary, a biopic, a documentary series, and a scripted project. An animated series based on Dolly’s children’s book «Billy the Kid» is also in the works.
