Just two days after the attempt on his life, Donald Trump announced that his candidate for vice president in the upcoming elections would be James David Vance, known as J.D. Vance, from Ohio.
Ironically, the 39-year-old politician, who served in the Marine Corps, was not a fan of the former 45th president in the past. The author of the book «Hillbilly Elegy» had called him the «Hitler of America» in previous years. J.D. even tweeted about the 78-year-old politician, but deleted them when he embarked on a political path in 2022.
He gained attention after running for Senate and winning, his previous work involved helping combat the opioid epidemic in Ohio. «This is very important to me personally, and it’s something my family has faced and fought against», - he shared in an interview with NPR.

On Truth Social, Donald shared: «After lengthy discussions and reflections, considering the immense talents of many others, I have decided that the best candidate for the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance from the great state of Ohio».
James continues to support the running candidate for X, especially after the incident on Saturday, July 13. Donald shared a post on X, saying: «Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as only God prevented the impossible. We will not be afraid, but will remain steadfast in our faith and defiant against evil. Our love goes out to other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of the wounded and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so tragically killed. At this moment, it is most important that we stand together and show our true character as Americans, remaining strong and resolute, not allowing evil to prevail.
