President Donald Trump once again drew attention by expressing his love for aspirin and the necessity of taking it daily. At a rally in Vandalia, Ohio, on October 3, he said, «I love Bayer aspirin. I take aspirin every day. I don’t know if it helps, but psychologically I need it».
Trump clarified that he prefers to take a large dose of aspirin, despite recommendations to lower it. «I take 386… I don’t know what that is. It’s a monster. They said, ‘Sir, you don’t need that.' I said, ‘Please leave me alone — I’ve felt fine for 35 years,'» he added.
The president also noted that he experiences problems when changing his aspirin dosage. He mentioned that when he tries a lower dose, «something bad happens». Trump, who has become the oldest president in U.S. history, also referred to visible bruises on his hands, linking them to his aspirin use. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he stated that he wants his «blood to be thin» and admitted to using makeup to conceal the bruises.
Previously, former White House press secretary Caroline Levitt claimed that the bruises on the president’s hand were the result of accidentally hitting a table during an official document signing. Trump confirmed this, stating that he «bumped into a table» and used cream for treatment.
