The drama between Jenn Tran from «The Bachelorette» and her final rose choice, Devin Strader, continues to escalate as he begins sharing screenshots of their private conversations.
The latest episode of season 21 showed 26-year-old Jenn heartbroken when 28-year-old Devin called off their engagement over the phone. During the «After the Final Rose» episode, Jenn revealed that Devin «just said he no longer loves me and doesn’t feel the same way». Crying on live television, Jenn explained to show host Jesse Palmer that although the finale showed them happily engaged as they left Hawaii, Devin began to distance himself as soon as the show ended. She shared, «I felt like he was backing out of all the promises he made to me — wanting to live together, plan a future, and see each other all the time».
Devin responded, explaining his reasons for ending the engagement: «I realized I couldn’t meet those expectations in the real world. I couldn’t meet what you needed and what you deserved. I saw that I was contributing to your setback, and it hurt me. You shouldn’t sacrifice your standards to be happy».
The day after the finale aired, Devin posted screenshots — now deleted — of his past conversations with Jenn on his Instagram stories in an attempt to defend his decision. According to ScreenRant, in a post with messages later deleted by user @kimchik1tty, Devin responded to Jenn’s question of why he wanted to talk in person: «I wanted to tell you all this in person because you deserved more than just a call».
Their conversation continued when Jenn told Devin that his decision had already been made, to which he replied, «Just last week, on Friday, you said we should break up. You already talked about it». Although Jenn admitted to making such statements, she explained, «I was emotionally charged when I said that, and obviously didn’t follow through»
