Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London commented on a verbal exchange with a fan during the game against the Carolina Panthers that took place on September 20. London stated that he will not tolerate «personal insults», - adding that despite his reaction, he needs to take responsibility and move on.
During the third quarter of the game, when the Falcons were trailing 27−3, cameras captured a moment when London appeared to engage in a verbal altercation with a fan, while his teammate Olamide Zaccheaus held him back. London acknowledged that the team’s struggles affected his reaction, noting that he does not like being spoken to in such a manner.
In this game, London made four receptions for 51 yards. The team’s quarterback Cooper Rush was replaced in the third quarter after two interceptions and a fumble. London emphasized that players need to go out on the field and show their game, regardless of the situation.
He also mentioned that he heard fans booing the team during the game, which only fuels his desire to prove everyone wrong. The team’s running back Bijan Robinson added that it is important not to let negative emotions affect the game, as it is part of the profession.
The Atlanta Falcons continue to play without their starting quarterbacks—Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr.—who are sidelined due to injuries. The team’s next game will be on September 24 against the Green Bay Packers.
