During two consecutive nights, two more participants were eliminated from the show «Dancing with the Stars» after a double elimination on Tuesday, October 8. During the third week of the dance competition, the remaining participants performed at two themed nights — Soul Train on Monday and Heavy Metal on Tuesday — after missing the show last week. Both nights were adorned with special guest judges: actress Rosie Perez on Monday and singer Gene Simmons on Tuesday. Initially, the lineup included celebrities from various professions such as athletes, actors, and reality show stars; however, the number of participants has been reduced to nine.

On Tuesday, during the double elimination, actor Reginald VelJohnson and his partner Emma Slater were eliminated, scoring a total of 42 points for both nights, as well as Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart, who earned 46 out of 80 points. In the final, three pairs remained, including these two pairs and Olympic champion Ilona Maher with her professional partner Alan Bersten.
At this point, four celebrities have been eliminated from the competition. In addition to Reginald and Eric, Anna Delvey and her partner Ezra Sosa, as well as actress Tori Spelling and her dance partner Pasha Pashkov, were sent home on September 24. Anna went viral after stating that she was getting «nothing» from the experience of participating in «Dancing with the Stars» when co-host Julianne Hough asked her about the elimination.
