Ed Sheeran’s concert, scheduled for October 3 in Atlanta as part of his Loop Tour, will undergo significant changes following the controversy surrounding his opening act.
Ahead of Sheeran’s performance, which will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 8:00 PM, organizers released information regarding arrival logistics for attendees. The announcement stated that parking would open at 2:00 PM, and the entrance gates would open at 6:00 PM. A special guest is set to take the stage at 7:00 PM, although the name of this guest has not yet been revealed.
Previously, Sheeran’s opening acts, Finneas and Lukas Graham, left the tour in September in solidarity with rapper Macklemore, who was removed from the lineup following negative reactions to his performances. Macklemore, who had previously performed at Sheeran’s concerts in New Jersey, made the statement «Freedom for Palestine». Sheeran, who denies that he personally fired Macklemore, returned to the tour in Philadelphia on September 19 without the support of other artists and replaced his band Beoga, which also left in solidarity.
At the Philadelphia concert, Sheeran apologized for the «mistakes» in handling the situation and noted that he felt pressure from the stadium owners. He emphasized that he never intended to disappoint his fans and that this event placed him at the center of an important discussion about freedom of speech.
