Ed Sheeran cancels concerts at Gillette Stadium due to weather
Ed Sheeran’s concerts scheduled at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts have been canceled due to concerns about weather conditions. This was announced by Messina Touring on Instagram on September 25, noting that the decision was made after consultations with local authorities and with the priority on the safety of the audience and staff.

Those who purchased tickets for the two shows this weekend are offered refunds at the point of purchase. Tickets bought through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.

The remaining concerts in the Loop tour, including performances in Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, Texas, and Florida, remain on schedule.

Sheeran’s tour gained attention after his former opening act, Macklemore, was removed from the tour following his performance where he said «Freedom for Palestine» and condemned genocide. Sheeran stated on Instagram on September 15 that some venues threatened to cancel shows if Macklemore continued to support his statements. He emphasized that the decision to part ways with Macklemore was made by the promoter, not himself.

After Macklemore’s removal, several other artists also decided to withdraw from upcoming shows in solidarity. Macklemore later announced his own tour «Freedom for Palestine» and did not express regret for his words at Sheeran’s concerts.

Robert Kraft, the owner of Gillette Stadium, previously stated his intention to donate $ 2 million to match Sheeran’s donation and help combat the humanitarian crisis in the region.
