«We are NOT a political party, we are a movement for ALL people, regardless of race, gender, religion, or political affiliation», - clarifies the People’s Union of the USA on its website. «Our goal is to unite Americans against the corruption and greed that have forced us to fight for decades».
The organization also notes that it is not fighting against «one person» like Donald Trump or Elon Musk. Instead, the group’s message is about «the system as a whole».
«Both political parties, past and present leaders, and billionaires have manipulated the economy and profited from the working class», - insists the organization. «We will hold them all accountable. Our focus is on systemic change, not political drama. … The idea that companies and institutions should reject diversity and inclusivity is regressive and unacceptable. Every American deserves equal opportunities for success, and we will not support policies that encourage discrimination or exclusion».
The results of the economic blockade are still unclear. The number of social media users who supported the movement was not measured at the time of publication. Major retail chains did not report a significant decrease in sales.
However, Google search queries for «economic blockade» increased on February 28, indicating that a significant number of Americans were at least curious about the boycott.
According to the People’s Union of the USA website, the next planned economic blockade will take place on March 28, 2025. The third economic blockade is scheduled for April 18, 2025.
