After returning to ABC with a role in the series «RJ Decker», - Elaine Hendrix shared details about her shocking plot twist. In the episode that aired on September 29, Amy’s character (Jaina Lee Ortiz) finds herself accused of murdering her father, Victor (David Zayas). During the investigation, RJ (Scott Speedman) discovers that the real culprit is Hendrix’s character, District Attorney Lake.
Hendrix, 55, told Us that she was aware of her character’s storyline in advance, but only received a small hint in the first episode. She noted that she enjoyed the complex and intricate plot. «I want to say in my defense that I have never played a murderer. I am known for playing duplicitous characters. I hope some viewers will think, 'No, she didn’t do it. That would be too obvious. Yes, she did it because it’s her,'» Hendrix said.
Despite her character’s arrest, Hendrix does not rule out the possibility of returning to the series. «I hear that often, and on set too. She must have some information that RJ will need, and he might visit her in prison», - she added. Hendrix has signed on for two episodes.
Her appearance in «RJ Decker» came a week after the season premiere, which featured professional dancers Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy. Hendrix expressed satisfaction with her role and noted that she would prefer to leave space for the dancers.
In the future, she suggested an idea for a return related to «Dancing with the Stars», - adding that RJ might have a dream in which Janice kills people during a dance. Hendrix also expressed a desire to participate in other ABC shows, proposing a role as Caitlin Olson’s sister in «High Potential» and a possible cameo in «Abbott Elementary», - where her former «Family Trap» co-star Lisa Ann Walter appears.
The series «RJ Decker» airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM Eastern Time.
