Eli Raridon and wife Anna announce the loss of their son

New England Patriots' Rocky Eli Raridon and his wife Anna announced the loss of their son in an emotional social media post. Anna shared that their son, Peter James Raridon, was born on September 11, but during a 20-week ultrasound, they were diagnosed with anencephaly—a fatal condition in which the baby cannot survive outside the womb.

Anna expressed her grief, noting that although they could not bring their son home, she is grateful that she was able to love and care for him for nine months. She emphasized that their son will always be a part of their story and that his «purpose was still meaningful».

Eli and Anna got married in May 2025, just before Eli’s final season at the University of Notre Dame. In March, they announced the pregnancy, and Anna shared her joy about the future child on social media. Eli was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft and managed to play in the first two games of the season, one of which he scored his first touchdown.
