The stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, Ella Emhoff, expressed support for her «Momala» by sharing a post from Charli XCX on X (formerly known as Twitter), expressing support for her presidential campaign. In one of her now expired Instagram Stories, 25-year-old Ella thanked the pop star for her obvious support of her stepmother’s campaign.
Shortly before it was announced that Harris was running for president, after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, Charli tweeted: «kamala IS brat». The tweet refers to her latest album, also named brat. With the release of the album, many embraced the ideas and aesthetics of the album, calling the summer of 2024 the «Summer of Brats».
Emhoff posted a screenshot of the pop star’s tweet and simply wrote: «@charli_xcx gets it», - according to Page Six. Emhoff is the younger of Harris’s two stepdaughters. Her husband, Douglas Emhoff, was an entertainment lawyer before becoming the second gentleman, but before meeting the vice president, he was married to producer Kerstin Emhoff. The former spouses also have an older son, Cole. They divorced in 2008, and Douglas married Harris in 2014. The vice president’s stepdaughters refer to their stepmother as «Momala»
