Ellen DeGeneres cancels show: fans shocked by sudden decision

Ellen DeGeneres mentioned during one of the stops on her comedy tour that after this and her upcoming special show on Netflix, fans should no longer expect to see her in public spaces. Therefore, fans were very confused when they received a message from Ticketmaster about their last chance to see the comedian, stating: «Unfortunately, the event organizer was forced to cancel your event».
Without explanation, fans who had planned to attend shows in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago in the coming months were simply left stunned by the sudden cancellation. Tickets for other tour dates are still available for purchase.
This tour marked the 66-year-old comedian’s first step back into the public eye since the end of her time hosting her show in 2022 and being «pushed out of show business». The show, which ran for almost 20 years, was one of the most successful daytime talk shows in television history.
«In this business, there are such extremes, people either love you and admire you, or they hate you, and those people somehow are louder», - she said.
While her words hold some truth, it did not start with people calling Ellen names just to unfairly incite hatred; there were real complaints and accusations against her that made others doubt the authenticity of her television persona. Her show was canceled in 2020 after 11 accusations against DeGeneres from former guests and crew members, claiming that the host created a toxic atmosphere. The accusations described toxic behavior, including racism, sexual harassment, and intimidation, according to Variety.
But the fact remains that DeGeneres still has many fans, as the show was almost sold out. So the question remains, why did she and/or her team decide to cancel certain shows.
«Thank you for still caring!» Ellen said to the almost sold-out crowd in Santa Rosa.
We hope that she will soon provide an explanation to her fans.
DeGeneres is still scheduled to perform next Tuesday, July 8, in Denver
