Ellen DeGeneres is leaving Hollywood: reasons and consequences

Two years after the last episode of the Ellen DeGeneres show, Ellen announced that she is ready to leave Hollywood.
The 66-year-old star recently revealed this news on Monday, July 8, during her «Last Stand Up Ellen… Up» tour in Santa Rosa. During a question and answer session, a fan asked the actress from «Finding Dory» if she has any future projects to expect, to which she immediately replied, «Um, no… This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done». She continued, «Thank you for still caring!»
She became a well-known face in Hollywood not only for her on-screen personality with a successful talk show, but also for roles in movies such as «Finding Nemo» and «Mr. Wrong». Her show first aired in people’s homes back in 2003 and ended in 2022 due to Ellen’s behavior on set.
Many former employees who once worked with the disgraced talk show host told Buzzfeed that there was a «negative atmosphere» and everything they showed on screen was «just an act». Executive producers Andy Lassner, Ed Glavin, and Mary Connelly told the publication, «Over nearly two decades, 3000 episodes, and involving over 1000 staff, we have strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment… We are sincerely heartbroken and regret that at least one person from our staff family had a negative experience. This is not who we are, not who we aspire to be, and not the mission Ellen has given us… For the record, the day-to-day responsibility of the Ellen show lies entirely with us. We take all of this very seriously and understand, as many in the world are learning, that we need to do better, we commit to do better, and we will do better».
Even during her performance on the comedy tour, the comedian joked, «Oh yes, I was kicked out of show business for cruelty». Later she confirmed, «I may be many things, but I am not cruel»
