The interview of Elon Musk with Republican candidate Donald Trump started with a 42-minute delay, which the billionaire explained as a «massive» cyber attack. During their conversation on Monday, August 12, Trump emphasized his goals and policies within his 2024 pre-election campaign against Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Musk began the interview by noting that it was an «honor» to speak with the former host of «The Apprentice» and stated that the alleged «DDOS attack» shows that many people do not want to listen to Trump.
Commenting on the latest TIME magazine cover featuring Harris, Trump called the vice president «beautiful» and compared her to his wife, Melania Trump.
Regarding politics at the border, Trump accused Harris of allowing «rough people» to enter the country through the Mexico-US border. According to The Guardian, the Republican candidate called Harris a «radical» Democrat and claimed that she «ruined» California when she served as attorney general and senator.
When asked about the war in Ukraine, Trump seemed to claim that he «could have stopped» the conflict with Russia.
«Russia defeated Germany with us, and they defeated Napoleon», - he said, according to The Guardian. «You know, they have been around for a long time. They are a big fighting force, and it’s very unfair… We are in a very bad position. And I’m not going to blame exclusively, but I can say that I could have stopped this».
When the topic of climate change came up, Trump said, «The biggest threat is not global warming, where the sea level will rise one eighth of an inch over the next 400 years. The biggest threat is nuclear warming», - according to The Guardian.
