Elon Musk: how many children does the billionaire have and how do they live
15 december 2024 в 18:13
Elon Musk is one of the most famous entrepreneurs of our time. The billionaire has led many companies throughout his career, including PayPal, Tesla, and SpaceX, and is also an intriguing and controversial celebrity. Aside from scandals, Elon has also become a father to twelve children from different relationships. In June 2024, it became known that he had become a father for the twelfth time.
Although 12 children may seem like a lot, Elon suggested that he may have more children during an interview with the Financial Times in October 2022. He called himself a «late bloomer», - but said it seemed «a little weird» when his friends suggested he have hundreds of children. Although he seemed open to the idea in the new interview, he said he did not expect more babies in the near future. «I'm pretty sure there won’t be any more infants», - he told journalists.
Unfortunately, his first son, Nevada Alexander, whom he had with his first wife Justine Wilson, passed away in 2002. Elon’s ex-girlfriend, Grimes, revealed that they had a second child (and Elon’s most recent child), named Y, in secret during the COVID-19 pandemic. Elon surprised the world in 2022 when he announced that he welcomed his ninth and tenth children — twins — in secret with Neuralink’s operations director, Shivon Zilis.
Last year, Grimes and Elon made headlines after she reportedly sued him for parental rights over their children, as reported by NBC News on October 3, 2023. According to court documents obtained by the publication, the singer filed a lawsuit on September 29, 2023, for «establishment of parental relations» in San Francisco. The publication noted that official court documents were not available, however, on the same day, an «alternative dispute resolution» was reached. The following year, Grimes and Elon reached an agreement in their custody battle.

Elon and Justine welcomed their first child together in 2002: son Nevada Alexander. The baby passed away from sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old, according to The Sun.
After Nevada’s death in 2002, Elon and Justine gave birth to a set of twins in April 2004: Xavier and Griffin. Justine revealed that her five children were conceived through IVF in her TedTalk in 2017. Very little is known about the twins, but their mother shared that she visited the IVF clinic shortly after Nevada’s death in an essay for Marie Claire in 2010. «I buried my feelings, coping with Nevada’s death, making my first visit to the IVF clinic less than two months later. Elon and I planned to get pregnant again as soon as possible. Over the next five years, I gave birth to twins, then triplets, and sold three novels to Penguin and Simon & Schuster», - the author wrote.
On April 18, 2022 — the day after their 18th birthday — Xavier filed to change their name to Vivian Jenna Wilson to reflect their new gender identity as a woman. Documents obtained by Hollywood Life in June state that Vivian wants to make the legal change due to «gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or want to be associated with my biological father in any way». She has not publicly explained why she does not want to be associated with Elon.
The tech guru got into trouble when he liked a comment from a right-wing account directed against the transgender community in December 2022, according to The Independent. Many followers found this unacceptable on many levels for the owner, but nothing more than something he is the father of a transgender daughter.
After the twins, Justine gave birth to triplets (again through IVF) in 2006: Kai, Saxon, and Damian. Like their brothers, very little is known about the triplets, although their father responded to a video on Twitter in February when someone shared a video of Damian playing the piano for the elderly. The original user mistakenly said it was Kai, to which Elon replied, «That's Damian»
