Ashley St. Clair, Elon Musk’s former girlfriend, claims in a new documentary that the billionaire reduced his monthly child support payments for their son Romulus by $ 80,000 in response to her public statements. St. Clair, 28, discussed this in the film by documentarian Alex Gibney titled «Musk», - which explores Musk’s influence on right-wing politics.
According to St. Clair, Musk offered her a one-time payment of $ 15 million and $ 100,000 per month on the condition that she sign a non-disclosure agreement that would limit her ability to speak about him and their son. When she declined this offer, Musk allegedly reduced the child support to $ 40,000 per month, and then in February 2025, cut it to $ 20,000 after St. Clair publicly announced the birth of Romulus.
St. Clair filed for full custody of Romulus in February 2025, marking the beginning of an ongoing legal battle. She is also pursuing legal action against Musk’s company xAI, accusing its executives of negligence after users of the Grok AI chatbot created explicit fake images of her likeness.
St. Clair decided to publicly share her experiences with Musk in February 2025 after a tabloid threatened to reveal information about the birth of their son. She urged the media to respect their child’s privacy and refrain from intrusive reporting.
In the documentary, St. Clair also claims that she heard from other women who were allegedly invited by Musk to become mothers of his children. She described a situation where one woman in Japan asked him for sperm, to which he agreed.
St. Clair noted that despite Musk’s offer of $ 40 million for her silence, she chose to tell her story to demonstrate to her children the importance of truth.
