Former hosts of «Good Morning America», - Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, have tied the knot. According to People magazine, they got married in a private ceremony in Washington County, Arkansas, on September 19.
Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Amy and T.J. applied for a marriage license in Arkansas on September 18. Holmes has a special connection to Arkansas, as he was born in West Memphis and attended the University of Arkansas.
The wedding took place nearly a year after T.J. proposed to Amy following three years of dating. The couple’s engagement was announced on their podcast «Amy and T.J». Amy shared, «We are sharing with you that we are engaged, and we have been engaged for about a month». T.J. added, «We wanted to let you know before anyone else could; we probably learned that lesson in the past about our relationship».
In 2023, Amy and T.J. had already been considering marriage. During a Q&A session on the podcast, Amy said, «It's being considered». She explained, «We didn’t enter this relationship for fun or with the thought, 'Let's see what happens.' We started this relationship with the intention of spending our lives together».
However, the couple was not rushing to the altar. Amy noted, «But there is something, I understand, it’s this desire that I can’t explain, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I can say that. It’s on the agenda». T.J. jokingly added that he plans to give Amy a «little box» for Christmas, noting, «I want to marry you, partly because you’re 50 and I’m 46. And I’m really tired of imagining a 50-year-old woman as my girlfriend. It sounds silly».
The couple first made headlines nearly four years ago when they were spotted together in November 2022. After the photos surfaced, Holmes filed for divorce from his then-wife Marilee Fiebig, and Robach also ended her relationship with her ex-husband Andrew Shue in 2023. That same year, Marilee and Andrew began dating.
