«I don’t have many words, but I am truly grateful for the opportunity to play on Centre Court, at a tournament with such history and traditions, where so many legends have played before me», - said Emma, as reported by various sources. «I enjoy matches where you feel that it’s not just hitting shots. There’s strategy involved, and it’s more like a chess game or something of that sort, so it was really enjoyable for me».

The athlete added that she «played very aggressively» against Coco, calling her American opponent «an amazing player».

«Coco is obviously an amazing player. I have a lot of respect for her, and what she has achieved at such a young age is truly remarkable», - said Emma, referring to ESPN. «I knew she wasn’t going to make it easy for me today. But I wanted to play aggressively and counter her game, and I think I managed to do that».

Emma won with a score of 6−4, 6−3 in this round. During the match, Coco was seen looking at the guest box where her coaches were seated. After the game, Coco talked about what happened on the court.

«We had a game plan, and I felt like it wasn’t working», - she noted. «I don’t always ask for advice from coaches, but today was one of those moments where I felt like I didn’t have any solutions. Mentally, there was a lot going on, and I felt like I needed more direction».

After the match, Emma and Coco embraced on the court. Emma will face Jasmine Paolini in the next round of Wimbledon.
