Chaotic sets and the dirty side of sales in the film industry create an epic series. If you haven’t seen the comedy show led by Seth Rogen «Studio» yet, get ready for a hyperbolic look at Hollywood. Now that the show has been praised and nominated for 23 Emmy awards, fans are dying to know when to expect the release of the second season.
«Studio» follows self-proclaimed cinephile Matt Remick, who becomes the new head of Continental Studios. As he transitions into his powerful new executive position, Matt must balance his desire to create quality films with his everyday work in the world of intellectual property.
Co-creator Evan Goldberg previously explained to Deadline that while the show dramatizes the greedy corporate mentality of some film producers, he emphasized that they are «just more noticeable» compared to the «wonderful people» who work in this industry.
«They are given a bad reputation, but most people in Hollywood are beautiful, wonderful people who could be doing something else but chose this because they love it — from the prop master to the assistant directors, to the catering producers, to the actors», - Evan said. «So when we show the dirtier, darker sides of the industry, it doesn’t feel like cheap shots, because it’s all a love letter. And we want it to be, again, a realistic portrayal of Hollywood, not shiny or dirty».
Below are updates on when we can expect the release of the second season of «Studio».
All episodes of «Studio» are currently available for viewing on Apple TV+.
The main cast of «Studio» includes Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, Kathryn Hahn as Patti Lee, Ike Barinholtz as Sal Saperstein, Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn Hackett, and Catherine Han as Maya Mason.
Regular cast members include Bryan Cranston as Griffin Mill and David Krumholtz as Mitch Waitz. And of course, the show wouldn’t be the same without the famous cameos! Zoe Kravitz, Dave Franco, Nicholas Stoller, Paul Dano, Charlize Theron, and many others play themselves in the series.
The official release date for the second season of «Studio» has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be somewhere in 2026. Production of the second season seems to have not yet started. So the premiere of the second season depends on when they finish filming.
With 23 nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards, «Studio» has clearly found a response from the audience and people in the industry. The series was nominated in the categories of «Outstanding Comedy Series», - «Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series», - «Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series», - «Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series», - and «Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series»
