Morgan Wallen did not receive any awards at the 2026 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ceremony, and fans are furious. Many believed that Wallen’s 2025 album «I'm the Problem» deserved recognition; however, Morgan has been repeatedly overlooked at various awards shows over the years.

From the Academy of Country Music to the Grammys, Wallen’s relationship with award organizations has been complicated, especially following his 2021 scandal involving a racial slur, which led to a temporary industry backlash and restrictions on his participation in certain ceremonies. Even after his return with albums like «One Thing at a Time» and «I'm the Problem», - fans continue to wonder why his success does not automatically translate into awards.

We will look at some of the most significant instances of neglect that Morgan has faced at awards shows.

Fans were outraged after the 2026 ACM ceremony when Morgan walked away without any awards in all the categories in which he was nominated. He had been nominated multiple times for «Artist of the Year» and «Male Artist of the Year».

In 2023, Morgan was nominated for «Artist of the Year» following the massive success of the album «One Thing at a Time», - but he lost in that category. At the time, fans noted that he dominated country music sales.

The same situation repeated itself in 2024 when Morgan attended the ceremony with several nominations but again did not win «Artist of the Year».

In 2025 and 2026, fan dissatisfaction grew. Morgan lost again in major categories, including «Artist of the Year» and «Album of the Year». Many viewers criticized the ACM for continually ignoring Wallen while awards went to artists more popular in the mainstream.

The CMA ceremony also faced criticism for its treatment of Morgan. In 2021, despite the huge success of the album «Dangerous: The Double Album», - Morgan was deemed ineligible for individual CMA nominations after a video surfaced of him using a racial slur.

This decision became one of the most discussed topics in country music, as Morgan remained one of the genre’s most commercially successful stars.

When Morgan returned to awards shows in subsequent years, fans continued to accuse the CMA of underestimating him in major categories.

The American Music Awards also became a source of controversy during Morgan’s brief fall in 2021. Although he continued to perform well on music charts and maintained a massive fan base, reports emerged that he was not allowed to attend the ceremony despite being nominated in several categories.

Unlike other major ceremonies, the Billboard Music Awards generally recognized Morgan’s commercial success. Since the Billboard awards are largely based on measurable chart metrics, streaming data, and sales, Morgan performed well at this ceremony. In 2023, he dominated the Billboard Music Awards, receiving significant accolades thanks to the success of the album «One Thing at a Time».

The Grammys may be the most controversial award organization for Morgan. Despite becoming one of the best-selling artists in the U.S., Wallen has received limited recognition from the Recording Academy, which fans have questioned for years.

Tensions seem to have escalated further when reports emerged that Morgan decided not to submit the album «I'm the Problem» for Grammy consideration ahead of the 2026 ceremony
