The movie «Final Destination: Blood Ties» revives the terrifying bloody franchise after an almost decade-long hiatus. Before the release of the sixth installment, which everyone is eagerly awaiting, here’s what we know about where you can watch it.
Following the tradition of summer horror movies, «Final Destination: Blood Ties» will debut in American theaters (and on IMAX) on Friday, May 16, 2025. And according to the original creator of the series, Jeffrey Reddick, «Blood Ties» is taking a completely different path.
«This movie doesn’t just add another layer», - he told Collider in a 2023 interview. «Usually in each movie there’s a new layer where it’s like, 'Oh, this might save you or this might save you.' This movie delves into the movie in such a unique way that attacks it from a different angle, so you don’t feel like, 'Oh, here’s an amazing setup, and then there’s one detail that could potentially save you, and you have to make a moral choice or do something to figure it out.' There’s an expansion of the universe that I’m so careful about».
He continued, adding that the new film «reveals» a new «layer». «There's an expansion of the 'Final Destination' world that I think will interest and intrigue fans», - he revealed to the publication. «When I say it doesn’t add a layer, it’s not just, 'Hey, if you kill someone in your place, you’ll stay alive.' It’s like it reveals a whole deep layer of story that makes it really, really interesting».
