Series creator Jeffrey Reddick told Collider in a 2023 interview how the latest installment will be different, but did not reveal the plot. «Usually in each film there’s a new layer where it’s like, 'Oh, this might save you or this might save you,'» he said at the time. «This film delves into the film in such a unique way that attacks it from a different angle, so you don’t feel like, 'Oh, here’s an amazing setup, and then there’s going to be one detail that could potentially save you, and you have to make a moral choice or do something to resolve it.' There’s an expansion of the universe that I’m so careful about».
